Beautiful, slender dolls with blond long hair, dressed in bright clothes for all occasions, from the beach to the weddings, have been the dream of girls all over the world for decades. A dream produced in China, first for the richest market in the world, USA, and then for millions of girls around the world, who practiced hairstyles on that doll, changed her dresses, shoes, prepared her kitchen, rooms… all living with the doll, a vision of life in pink.

The global American-Chinese “Barbie dream” lasted for decades. In our case, Marijana’s “Barbie” dolls are still played with by our granddaughter Mia: they two sometimes bathe them neatly together, dry their hair, talking about how beautiful everything is when you are as beautiful as a doll.

“Barbie”.

In the meantime, “Barbie”—era was accompanied by a carefully encouraged desire to own as many and as many different dolls as possible, as well as the other, much newer and “modern models” of children’s toys in original, or copy-versions.

This is how it turned out that that America by far the largest and the most lucrative market in the world, along the way became also the largest global debtor. The national debt of the USA amounted to 36,211,469 million US dollars in June this year.

Of course, not only because of “Barbie craze”, but because of the setting of the world order in which American consumer has grown into a seemingly fickle buyer of goods from all over the world, often regardless of price.
